Day 1: Afropunk Brooklyn 2019

Afropunk has wrapped its first day and there was plenty to brag about. The many performances nestled in Commodore Barry Park, Brooklyn that took place all day long, kept festival-goers on their toes (and tapping). We saw Jill Scott close the opening evening, while Leon Bridges, Nao, Goldlink, and Leikeli47 kept the energy up with the sun. DJs played throughout the day as performances by music artist gathered the largest crowds at one of the 4 main stages. We got to eat from food vendors from all over Brooklyn and New York City. We saw some of the most unique styles as the creatives came out to play.  While there is one more day on the bill, we want to round out the feels for Day 1 – We ‘got’ you.
