Like many producers and artists you may have heard about vocal presets on YouTube, Reddit or maybe Facebook. Vocal Presets are a new trend that is easing the burden of learning the language of music engineering for artists.

Vocal presets are essentially pre-saved channel strip settings designed to get you a specific result when added. For example, if you’re a fan of The Kid Laroi you may have searched for a “Kid Laroi vocal preset.” The intention of this type of preset is to give you the effects that he puts on his voice so that all you have to do is focus on the vocal performance.

These have been popularized mainly by FL Studio. The ease of use of FL Studio and the popularity of the tutorials on YouTube have drawn new producers and artists faster than any other digital audio workstation. Knowing that new users are flowing to FL Studio in increasing demand, producers have started making vocal presets for the platform.

To use these presets google “Vocal Presets for FL Studio”. When searched you should get some links that take you to Reddit and other places to download these presets. Anyone can create a vocal preset so download a bunch and try them out. When you download them you can import them into FL Studio and use them to immediately sound great.

Vocal presets are great because they give you instant creativity. A popular technique is to cycle through a bunch of vocal presets while singing into the mic. When doing this you can quickly find one that inspires you and get your creative juices flowing.

We shouldn’t have to get bogged down with engineering if we don’t want to. Some people just want to make music and not worry about the technicals. Music should be fun for all that want to experiment. Vocal presets look to make this possible.

If you are interested in vocal presets there are free ones online that you can find from a google search. Typically certain creators will make vocal presets that you like more than others. Stick with those creators. Everyone's voice is different and in some cases certain vocal presets may just work better for your voice.

If you are curious how to install a vocal preset in FL Studio there are tons of tutorials on YouTube. They are typically pretty easy to follow. Most of the time FL Studio vocal presets come with instructions as well so you will have multiple sources to instruct you how to install.
