For Pre-Fall 2026, David Koma turns inward—toward the women who have shaped his creative universe—and outward, toward myth, cinema, and modern heroism. In a landmark collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, Koma unveils a Supergirl-inspired collection that transforms comic-book iconography into a commanding day-to-night wardrobe for exceptional women who move between power, presence, and performance with ease.

Timed to coincide with the theatrical and IMAX® release of DC Studios’ highly anticipated film Supergirl (June 2026, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures), the collection reframes Kara Zor-El not as fantasy, but as fashion archetype. Strength, rebellion, and resilience are filtered through Koma’s unmistakable lens of sensuality, sculptural precision, and architectural tailoring—creating a wardrobe that shifts seamlessly from boardroom authority to nocturnal glamour to off-duty cool.

A Cinematic Palette of Power

Color becomes narrative language. Crimson red and azure blue echo Supergirl’s visual mythology with cinematic intensity, anchored by Koma’s signature black. Metallic silver and gold flash like futuristic armour, introducing a techno-luxury edge. The effect is both heroic and hyper-modern—graphic, assertive, and unmistakably urban.

Sculpted Silhouettes, Engineered Impact

Form is treated as force. Dropped hems generate aerodynamic movement, while exaggerated power shoulders create a posture of command. Bonded scuba leather is panelled into streamlined body-con dresses with mechanical precision, and graphic cut-outs slice through silhouettes in defiant abstraction—subtle echoes of the iconic S-Shield. Swirling, bouncy knit hems introduce a kinetic rhythm, giving the collection a space-age energy that feels alive in motion.

Material as Armour

Materiality becomes metaphor. Faux fur wraps the body with both protection and attitude. Velvet denim softens the aesthetic without weakening its authority. Sequins return in fiery red and molten gold, amplifying drama with high-shine intensity. Patent leather appears in dual forms: a padded utilitarian jacket that reads as futuristic armor, and hand-embroidered, three-dimensional inflated floral appliqués on bra tops and miniskirts—romance and rebellion fused into one visual language.

Graphic Storytelling

The collection is rich with symbolic storytelling. Archival Supergirl imagery traces the character’s evolution from her 1959 comic debut to the forthcoming cinematic release. Stars scatter across garments like constellations, mapping an intergalactic journey. Vintage-style S-Shield T-shirts are crystallised all over, while the iconic emblem is embroidered into thick mohair knits—transforming familiar pop symbols into elevated luxury statements.

The Supermodel as Superhero

Supermodel Yasmin Wijnaldum, featured in the lookbook, embodies Koma’s Supergirl: a hero whose power is expressed not through spectacle, but through posture, presence, and control. In this world, the city becomes the runway, the stride becomes a weapon, and style becomes a form of authority. Supergirl is no longer just a character—she is a woman in motion, navigating power, beauty, and identity on her own terms.
