Global Fashion Futures Forged at the 2025 Taiwan Fashion Design Award

The 2025 Taiwan Fashion Design Award (TFDA) Final Selection Show and Award Ceremony, a signature event of Taipei Fashion Week, successfully concluded after identifying and celebrating the most promising emerging talents from a global pool of 627 entries across 25 countries and regions. The event highlighted the intense creativity and innovation driving the next generation of fashion.
The prestigious First Prize and a US$10,000 cash prize were awarded to Hsu Yi-Shiuan for the collection “Human Reproduction Project,” which profoundly impressed the jury with its conceptual depth and execution.
The Second Prize, including a US$5,000 cash award, was shared by two exceptional designers: Hung Kai-Lun for “DuST. PYTHoN. DaTA.” and Japan’s Kakeru Nishiwaki for “TRAUMARCHIVES”. The ceremony also recognized outstanding technical and commercial prowess through three Third Prize categories, each awarding US$3,000.
Huang Tzu-Han won Best Use of Fabrics for “Sip,” Weng Yu-Hsuan secured Best Pattern Making for “Shadowed Weave, Flowing Radiance,” and Thailand’s Naphat Tansuwan earned Best Market Potential for “AREA 77” ALIENS FOUND IN THAILAND!. The jury featured an esteemed panel of leading figures from the global fashion industry and media, underscoring the competition's international recognition. The panel included renowned designers Fujiwara Dai (Japan) and Stephane Dou; Jane Singer (USA), Managing Director of Inside Fashion; Florence Lu, Curator of Taipei Fashion Week; Tomonori Matsui (Japan), CEO of ONE O Ltd.; Eliza Yang, Vice President of onefifteen; and Charlotte Chiang, Director of the Innovative & Sustainable Design Department at TTF. They collectively praised the finalists for their exceptional creativity, commitment to sustainability, and technical excellence.
On the runway, the 12 finalists presented collections that expressed unique perspectives, masterfully intertwining philosophy, culture, emotion, and technology. Under the lights, shifting textures and silhouettes revealed explorations into the beauty of time, psychology, and nature, captivating the audience. Through creative applications of recycled fabrics, zero-waste cutting, modular design, and multifunctional details, the collections powerfully showcased both innovation and a responsible approach to fashion.
Drawing from deep wells of history, identity, and craftsmanship, each outfit reflected a fresh aesthetic and the forward-looking spirit defining the new generation.
