JCA | London Fashion Academy Announces London Fashion Week Show, Partnering With THIS IS ICON Fashion Charity Gala

During London Fashion Week, the esteemed JCA | London Fashion Academy (JCA) is to show as part of THIS IS ICON on 15th September at the opulent De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, the JCA’s headline show follows Malan Breton and Kingfisher, who will present their collections earlier in the day.  THIS IS ICON embraces fashion and music to raise funds, the chosen charity for the show is Prost8.

Prof. Jimmy Choo’s JCA is proudly showcasing the achievements of its distinguished former graduates who have ascended to prominence within the fashion industry alongside the current cohort of BA students and MA Learner-Entrepreneurs who are emerging as noteworthy talents to watch in the fashion space. 

Segmented in three sections, the show will be a fusion of "Size A" by Annabelle Barton, the XO by Melissa Kate, and Angel's Wear Nada by Noon unveiling three distinct looks from their latest collections. 

The second segment presents a selection of the Academy’s BA (HONs) Fashion: Design, Branding, and Entrepreneurship (DBE) students, featuring Cherlyn Ornika, Kinar Ornika, Maisy Binns, Niamh Nowlan, Valeria Peeva and Vesela Valeva, each delivering a singular masterpiece. 

Finally, the spotlight turns to our talented MA Learner-Entrepreneurs, Aaiyma Masoud, Icela Berra- Rocio Sanchez, Mariam Saeed, Olivia Black, Polly McKevitt and Saleha Hussain, offering a THIS IS ICON exclusive preview into their upcoming graduate collections. In their London Fashion Week runway each MA Learner-Entrepreneur will premiere one look from their forthcoming collection. Signaling their entry to industry and igniting a buzz in the media landscape, as they prepare for their highly anticipated Graduate collection reveal in October at the JCA’s Mayfair campus during Frieze week. 

FORMER MA GRADUATES: 

Size A by Annabelle Barton

Size-A, the luxury petite clothing brand, is showcasing six looks from the ‘My Roaring Twenties’ collection. The collection captures a range of embroidery, print, and weaving techniques to emphasize on being a specific stereotype, the ending of your childhood, and being restricted within your profession. 

XO by Melissa Kate

Bringing self-love and confidence to the wearer through bespoke Demi couture pieces that adapt to each individual. Designed and handmade in her atelier, Melissa-Kate is set to create a world influenced by witchcraft and pin-up style, hand-crafted by females for the feminine.

Angel’s Wear Nada by Noon

Angel’s Wear Nada was founded on the principles of sustainability, inclusivity, individuality, and quality. Jewellery brand, JENSJWLS, is here to test the limits of what jewellery was, is, and could be. Inspired by craft and playfulness, Angels Wear Nada and JENSJWLS collaborate to present a neo-nostalgic collection: Heavensent. 

DBE STUDENTS

Cherlyn Ornika 

Cherlyn is a Thai designer aspiring to empower women worldwide, channeling her art and inspiration through fashion to become a formidable force for femininity.

Kinar Ornika

Kinar started her design career at JCA, expressing her love for art & culture. She embraces her creativity through her garments, using nature as the sole inspiration for her collections. 

Valeria Peeva

Valeria is a keen observer and draws inspiration from her surroundings and Alexander McQueen's early work while infusing her own designs with a unique perspective on life. 

Vesela Valeva 

A business-casual, womenswear brand that incorporates cultural elements which celebrate Valeva’s nationality, Bulgaria. 

Maisy Binns

A womenswear brand with a graphical, sustainable-focused approach. Each design is a wearable, eye-catching piece of art. 

Niamh Nowlan

Specializing in womenswear, Niamh draws inspiration from her Cotswolds heritage and the London culture. Classy and stylish is accomplished through intricate tailoring and lines within her designs. 

MA GRADUATES

Olivia Paige Black

Polly McKevitt

An avant-garde brand that transcends traditional fashion boundaries and invites individuals on a self-discovery journey of joyful artistic expression. 

Saleha Hussain

Yasmin is a luxury streetwear brand that fuses contemporary and modest fashion whilst prioritizing ethical manufacturing and sustainable practices. 

Icela Berra-Rocio Sanchez 

A sustainable bridal, ceremonial garment brand focused on making feminine, unconventional pieces for the unconventional women who want to make a statement.

Aaiyma Masoud 

AAIYMA Creative Studio focuses on the "simple unusual" and combines geometric shapes and three-dimensionality to challenge the status quo. 

Mariam Saeed 

Location-em offers a range of beautifully designed occasion-wear dresses that prioritise modesty without compromising style.
