Gap Inc., America’s largest specialty apparel retailer, has announced a new partnership with Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider, to bring Klarna’s suite of payment options to U.S. shoppers across its portfolio of iconic brands: Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta.
The collaboration is designed to give customers more choice and convenience at checkout, aligning with Gap Inc.’s mission to enhance the shopping experience both online and in-store. With the integration now live, shoppers can access Klarna’s flexible and interest-free payment options just in time for the arrival of the season’s latest collections.
“We are excited to offer our customers more choice, convenience and control by offering a variety of payment options across our portfolio of brands,” said Kevin Meiners, Head of Loyalty & Payments at Gap Inc.
Through Klarna, U.S. shoppers can pay in full immediately or take advantage of the Pay in 4 option, which allows them to split purchases into four equal, interest-free installments. This approach caters to a wide range of consumer preferences and supports more personalized, budget-friendly shopping experiences.
“Gap Inc. is a household name with a portfolio of beloved brands that are woven into the everyday lives of American consumers,” said David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna. “By offering Klarna at checkout, Gap Inc. is giving millions of shoppers the flexibility to shop how and when they want, while also supporting a personalized way to pay.”
The partnership expands Klarna’s growing footprint in the United States, where it currently serves over 26 million active customers and connects with more than 724,000 global merchants. For Gap Inc., it reinforces the retailer’s focus on meeting customers where they are—providing seamless, innovative solutions that complement its longstanding presence in American fashion.
With this collaboration, Gap Inc. joins a roster of leading global retailers that rely on Klarna’s AI-powered payments and commerce solutions, including Sephora, Nike, H&M, Saks, Macy’s, and Airbnb.
