Wrapped // Unbound: Herskind AW26 at Copenhagen Fashion Week

At Copenhagen Fashion Week, Herskind unveiled its AW26 collection, Wrapped // Unbound, a study in strength that resists spectacle. This is power that does not announce itself—no rigid silhouettes or overt declarations—only a calm, assured presence that speaks through restraint.
That same philosophy of assurance through ease echoed across the season more broadly, as comfort emerged as a central narrative. Comfort, after all, can take many forms: the tactile pleasure of soft textures and warmth, the cocooning protection of considered silhouettes, or the deeper sense of certainty that comes from being aligned with oneself. For Autumn/Winter 2026, several designers leaned into this idea, none more so than Rabens Saloner, whose collection offered women the freedom to relax into their own comfort zones without sacrificing style.
For Herskind, classic tailoring continues to be the foundation, but it is reworked with softened construction, asymmetry, and fluid draping. Garments move with the body rather than impose upon it, reinforcing the notion of strength as something internal. Texture plays a defining role—shearling, leather, knitwear, and silk introduce depth and tactility, while cocooned shapes and reimagined wardrobe staples suggest protection, ease, and longevity.
Rabens Saloner approaches comfort through materiality and colour. Fabrics that beg to be touched are rendered in a warm, enveloping palette. Black—an enduring anchor in many wardrobes—is softened by tones of whiskey, chestnut, indigo, and clay grey, while signature hand-dye techniques blend earthy shades and vibrant blues into marble-like effects. The result feels instinctive and deeply personal, celebrating imperfection and craftsmanship.
Outerwear becomes the first line of defence against winter, and a powerful expression of this comfort-led mindset. At Rabens Saloner, a sculptural shearling jacket combines different fur lengths for visual impact, while nylon parkas with cycle-friendly splits and quilted technical cotton pieces—cocoon-sleeved jackets, circular skirts, armour-like body warmers—are designed for real life and thoughtful layering. Elsewhere, double-faced felt oversized coats, washed-leather-effect pleated skirts, and marble-dyed duster coats reinforce a sense of protection without heaviness.
Herskind’s colour story remains grounded and intentional, anchored in olive, khaki, chocolate, camel, grey, ivory, and white. These tones underscore the brand’s commitment to timelessness over trend, allowing texture and silhouette to take precedence. The quiet elegance of the palette mirrors the collection’s ethos: femininity that is assured, understated, and enduring.
Across knitwear, tailoring, and eveningwear, the season reinforces a shared belief: true elegance only emerges when comfort—physical and emotional—is present. From Rabens Saloner’s whisper-soft hand-dyed knits, relaxed tuxedo tailoring, and reworked denim, to Herskind’s refined evolution of modern tailoring, AW26 at CPHFW suggests a shift away from performative power dressing toward something more intimate.
Wrapped // Unbound ultimately stands as a reflection of this broader cultural moment. It is not about transformation through excess, but evolution through clarity. In Herskind’s AW26, strength is quiet, femininity is assured, and style is inseparable from comfort—proof that the most compelling statements are often the ones spoken softly.
