A$AP Rocky’s AWGE returned to Men’s Fashion Week with its second collection, OBLIGATORY FASHION - trends born out of necessity, unveiled at L'Eglise Protestante Unie de l'Etoile. The show explored how uniforms become fashion statements, how what was once labeled “ghetto” now defines luxury, and how institutional dress transforms into cultural iconography.

On the runway, Rocky teased his forthcoming PUMA footwear collaboration, including the Mostro Gabbia and a distressed take on the classic Speedcat. Christian Louboutin lent select silhouettes customized with AWGE charms by Pavē Niteō, who also provided Rocky’s bespoke jewelry for the evening, fresh off the heels of their diamond-encrusted Ray-Ban debut at the Met Gala. The collection spotlighted Rocky’s personal Ray-Ban creations, from the Wayfarer Puffer to his newest collection: The Next Generation, set to be released later this summer. . Rounding out the multidimensional showcase, Rocky introduced pieces from his interior design studio, Hommemade, including a sculpted 40oz vase wrapped in a brown paper bag and a custom gaming console, bringing street iconography into the realm of collectible design.

The show was livestreamed globally by Cash App, who recently partnered with Rocky to receive $1 million in unexpected Cash App Afterpay balance payoffs, and to close out the week, Rocky will host an AWGE Sample Sale Pop-Up in Le Marais, Paris, on Sunday, June 29th and Monday, June 30th.

Obligatory Fashion is a conceptual critique of how trends in modern culture often shift from expressive choices to unspoken requirements. Defined as a blend of “obligatory” (meaning required or expected) and “fashion” (prevailing style), the term explores how style can become ironically mandatory, institutionalized, or ritualistic—transforming personal expression into a uniform worn to meet cultural expectations.
