Katie Lindsay: Professional Poker’s Colorful Fashion Icon
By PAGE Editor
The world of professional poker has undoubtedly evolved over the years, particularly with the growth in its diversity. Nowadays, more and more women can be spotted playing at high-stakes poker tables and winning tournaments.
Billionaire Jenny Just, for example, is known for her company and platform dedicated to teaching poker to women. Dubbed Poker Power, Just stated that the platform aims to teach a million women and girls how to play Texas Hold'em. Since its establishment in 2020, Just has hired staff and built a network of female instructors. Soon after, an app was built, introducing about 32,000 women and girls around the world to the game of poker.
On top of initiatives like Poker Poker, one of the best ways to see more women seated at poker tables is by highlighting the women already making their rounds at high-stakes poker tournaments worldwide. A name to watch for these days is poker professional Katie Lindsay, who balances her love for poker and fashion at glamorous casinos and online tournaments:
Katie Lindsay's poker journey
Before Katie Lindsay began playing poker professionally, she was an agent for poker players, negotiating million-dollar deals for some of the card game's brightest stars. Lindsay built an agency representing 30 clients before undergoing a career shift following Black Friday.
Lindsay soon signed with top online poker site Americas Cardroom, joining the site's group of ACR Pros alongside names like Chris Moneymaker, Ebony Kenney, and her husband, Chris Moorman. Aside from actively playing online poker, the role includes being part of the site's testing group for new features, such as the recently unveiled Survivor Flips — a fast-paced, action-packed game allowing players to win their way into major tournaments in just minutes.
Today, Americas Cardroom remains one of the leading online poker operator in the US and worldwide, offering players access to high-stakes online and offline tournaments. Lindsay's latest career milestone is as much a part of Americas Cardroom's goal of spreading online poker joy — last year, she became the first woman to win a Moneymaker Tour Main Event title, named after fellow ACR Pro and 2003 WSOP Champion, Chris Moneymaker. The $102,915 win was also a career-high for Lindsay.
On top of competing in and winning poker tournaments, Lindsay also dedicates her poker career to philanthropy. In October 2024, she hosted a charity tournament in partnership with the United Breast Cancer Foundation alongside fellow ACR Pro and prolific poker pro, Ebony Kenney.
Katie Lindsay's love for fashion
Katie Lindsay's bio on the official Americas Cardroom site states that she is a self-proclaimed fashionista, unafraid of dressing up for an occasion. This trait is best demonstrated through pictures and videos the poker pro uploads to her Instagram profile.
For example, one of her more recent uploads shows a series of pictures of her celebrating "gay Easter" with friends at The Country Club New Orleans, known for its weekly drag brunches. Of course, Lindsay seems perfectly dressed for the occasion, clad in florals and soft pink attire and matching heart-shaped shades.
Lindsay also knows when to revel in subtlety, as another picture shows her at the recent Moneymaker Tour Main Event in Daytona Beach, Florida, back in March. Lindsay isn't wearing an all-pink getup or wearing bold sunglasses in the single photo. Still, she stands out in a bright yellow top and some jewelry.
Lindsay's bio on her Instagram profile also declares that, beyond being a fashion enthusiast, she is also a nail art lover. The poker player has a Highlights reel on her profile depicting her many nail art designs, such as chic marble patterns, blinged-out gems and colorful florals. Lindsay showcases this passion for nail art by matching her nails and fashion accessories with the rest of her outfit, whether a pink, Mean Girls- or Barbie-inspired outfit or an all-purple look.
