OpéraSPORT Spring Summer 2026: A Gentle Fusion of Seoul’s Spirit and Sustainable Innovation
By PAGE Editor
In its Spring Summer 2026 collection, OpéraSPORT offers more than fashion — it delivers a meditative exploration of culture, color, and conscious design. Titled a celebration of “cultural harmony and soft modernity,” the collection is inspired by founders Stephanie Gundelach and Awa Malina Stelter’s recent journey to Seoul. Their creative interpretation merges the Korean capital’s layered contrasts — between tradition and futurism — into pieces that feel poetic, progressive, and profoundly wearable.
But at the heart of this season is sustainability, treated not as a footnote, but as a design imperative. True to its ethos, OpéraSPORT continues to craft every piece from recycled or organic fabrics, championing timeless silhouettes that resist trend expiration. From vegan leather jackets embroidered with Korea’s national hibiscus to seamless lace styles reimagined for elegance and comfort, each garment reinforces the brand’s mission: make fashion that respects both people and the planet.
The palette borrows softly from Seoul’s pastel-toned cityscapes — think sage, butter yellow, pink blur, and the house’s signature pastel green — while the custom hibiscus print acts as a narrative device throughout the collection, appearing in 3D lace flowers, embroidery, and full-print statements. Even traditional Korean hanbok forms are delicately modernized with minimalist structure, underscoring OpéraSPORT’s commitment to honoring history without recreating it.
This season’s standout collaboration with havaianas further underscores innovation with sustainability. On the runway, the Brazilian flip-flop icon reveals the world’s first 3D-printed flip-flop — a bold design developed with footwear technology firm Zellerfeld. Fully recyclable and designed with zero waste, the footwear represents a meaningful step toward circular fashion. It also mirrors OpéraSPORT’s own balance of heritage and experimentation — transforming the everyday sandal into a future-forward, fashion-conscious artifact.
The setting — Frederiksberg Badene in Copenhagen — was chosen for its tranquility, mirroring the designers’ recurring reference point: the view from their Seoul hotel pool. It’s a fitting stage for a collection that seeks serenity amidst urban energy. From architectural tailoring to airy floral textures, each look flowed with intention, elevated by inclusive casting and styling focused on individuality. Beauty direction by Miild featured dewy skin and floral tones, while hair by Hanna Ramirez using Iles Formula struck a delicate balance between natural and polished.
