Techwear is a futuristic style/aesthetic that was born of utilitarianism and high fashion. It combines the best of outdoor wear with urban fashion styles. The Techwear aesthetic can describe shoes, jackets, backpacks, and even pants. This style has strong roots in Japanese culture but has seen the rise of many techwear brands fighting for the affection of younger generations.
Grunge Aesthetic
Feeling nostalgic for mid-1990s alternative rock? Do you live in Seattle? Were you a Starbucks junkie before they were a national franchise? Ever heard of the Screaming Trees? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions you’re likely aware of the grunge style. This style often features dirty, seemingly used, clothing.

The athletic aesthetic can describe any and all styles characterized by performance-first design. Yes, this even includes athleisurewear in its many forms. The athletic aesthetic is regarded as a sports-centric style. This means spandex, tennis shoes, moisture-wicking shirts, and compression gear. While the look of athletic aesthetics is what draws many in, the physiological support and benefit to one’s central nervous system are what inducts for life!

Did you ever have a crush on a professor? Do you think in fondness to coming-of-age adventures like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone? The world of academia draws many in for many reasons. While school-mandated uniforms are mostly a thing of our collective history, the style’s produced by their evolution remain timeless. Yes, there’s some overlap here with the retro and vintage styles. However, donning a colour-sequenced, pleated, and well-hemmed outfit bursting with school spirit never gets old. At least, not for some!
