When you start building your squad for Ultimate Team, you will come across a mechanic called chemistry. Understanding chemistry and how it works is important to build a better squad. Chemistry is not just for competitive players. Even if you're a beginner or a casual, by learning how chemistry works, you can improve your squad's performance by making clever player picks during squad building.
In this guide, let's start by understanding chemistry, then check out how chemistry actually works in detail, why it is important, and learn how to take advantage of chemistry to build an amazing squad! If you don't have the right players, you can always purchase them with cheap FC 26 coins.
What Is Chemistry in FC 26
In simple words, chemistry is a system that will boost your player attributes based on your player picks. Whenever you build a squad with multiple players from the same club, league, or nation, the players will gain something known as chemistry points.
Each player can have anywhere between 0 and 3 chemistry points, which is shown as diamond symbols during squad building. So, the maximum chemistry points one player can have is 3, which means the maximum chemistry a squad can have is 33 points.
It's not always necessary to have a 33/33 chemistry squad. Sometimes you will find better player picks that give better output at something like 26 or 27 chemistry. The key is knowing when to take advantage of chemistry and when to cleverly choose other players based on your requirements.
How Does Chemistry Work in FC 26
Based on the chemistry points a player has, their attributes get a bonus depending on their chemistry style. More chemistry points means more bonus on attributes. 1 point gives the least amount of bonus, and 3 points give the highest. Whereas a player with 0 chemistry points will not receive any attribute bonuses, even after having a chemistry style.
Let's now explore how chemistry points work:
If there are 2 players from the same club or nation, they get +1 chemistry
If there are 3 players from the same league, they get +1 chemistry
If there are 4 players from the same club, they get +2 chemistry
If there are 5 players from the same league or nation, they get +2 chemistry
If there are 7 players from the same club, they get +3 chemistry
If there are 8 players from the same league or nation, they get +3 chemistry
But there is a golden rule you must follow. A player only gets chemistry points if they are in their correct position. For example, you can have Salah 91 as RM or RW, but if you place him at any other position, he will not get any chemistry points, nor will he provide any points to other players.
In FC 26, it does not matter whether the players are male or female; they can link to and provide chemistry points. As long as they have something in common, like the same club, league, or nation, they will provide chemistry points to each other.
For example, if you have Khadija Shaw 89 as your ST, you can use Phil Foden 85 as RW, and get +1 chemistry on both players. It's because they're from the same club, Manchester City.
This also applies to the same league and nation, as long as you're using the players in their appropriate position, be it primary position or alternate position.
